1. Students will arrive with a pencil, sheet music in binder, and track, if needed. Bring phone/recording device to record lesson. Please make sure the phone is charged for lesson or bring charger with you.
2. If possible, students should arrive warmed up, as to make the most of their lesson time. We will,
however, still do scales/exercises to demonstrate vocal mastery of concepts before diving into repertoire.
3. Lessons will begin as close to the scheduled time as possible. If the lesson before you is running late you will not be penalized; please wait patiently. If you are late, you will have to stop if
another student is waiting for his/her lesson at its scheduled time.
4. Practice is expected. You will only progress if you put in time working on your own. Expecting
great strides to be met in only 1 hour every week or two is being unrealistic. Practice is meant to
establish the positive habits we are trying to develop in the lesson. I will require this as I only have a limited amount of students I can take each semester.
5. If you must cancel a lesson at the last minute (under 48 hrs.) please leave BOTH an email and a voice message. Of course situations arise, emergencies and illness that would make this almost impossible, but if it is within your ability, please contact me as soon as you know that you will be unable to make the lesson. I am available for Skype lessons, should you be out of town or unable to travel to my studio due to inclement weather.
6. One (1) absence per semester will be tolerated for ANY reason. No questions asked. You will be able to make up that lesson on one of my group lesson make-up classes. Please know that I value your time. I hold your spot weekly or biweekly. Please value my time as well. If a second lesson is missed in a semester, without at least 48 hours notice, you will be responsible for that lesson at your next lesson time, or will be included in your monthly fee. I will not offer a make-up. If there are any problems with or questions about this policy, I would be happy to discuss these with you. Also, please make sure the lesson is paid for on the day of the lesson.
